Eurochocolate 2014 kicks off in Perugia

Chocolate lovers, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Italian branch of paradise for sweet tooth. Eurochocolate is held 21 times in Perugia - one of the largest and most famous chocolate festivals not only in Italy, but throughout Europe. Officially, the "sweetest" event of the year starts today, October 17, and will delight residents and visitors of the city until the 26th of this month. The organizers of this action assure that visitors to the festival will not only plunge headlong into the wonderful world of chocolate, but also learn how to use this delicious product to learn about other countries and cultures.

The place where all the fun will be held mainly is a specially constructed platform called Chocolate Expo, located on Piazza IV Novembre. Numerous exhibitions and competitions, presentations and demonstrations of delicious chocolate in the world will be held inside this design. Every year, the organizers change the theme of the festival. This year, it was decided to pay attention to the fact that in 2015 Eurochocolate will be held as part of the upcoming exhibition Milan Expo 2015 (Milan Expo).

Exhibition stands and pavilions will be open to visitors daily from 9 am to 6 pm. A feature of 21 Eurochocolate accounts will be the opportunity for everyone to participate in the manufacture of their favorite sweets. The organizers also took care of creating special "laboratories" designed to explain to children who will come to the exhibition that not all unnecessary things should be thrown away: many things can be recycled and used for other purposes.

And finally, a special role in the framework of the festival will be assigned to the process and problems of cocoa production in well-developed countries, which supply products to the leading "shock makers" of the world. Such a topic, according to experts, will help to attract the attention of Eurochocolate visitors to the fact that European manufacturers of cocoa powder deliver the highest quality product, as well as serve as a profitable marketing move.

From October 17 to October 26, everyone will be able to get a great opportunity to learn all the subtleties of making chocolate, get acquainted with the features of the "chocolate" culture of a particular country, and also independently analyze the details of the functioning and profitability of this market segment, realizing what is still driving and inspires the famous sweets producers to create it.

Honorary representatives of such countries as Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Côte d'Ivoire, Peru and Venezuela will also take part in Eurochocolate. “Cocoa is a major source of income in many countries,” explains Eugenio Guarducci, head of the organizing committee at Eurochocolate. The main event of the festival, the international summit "In the Heart of Chocolate" will be held October 22 Hall of Fame in the Palazzo Donini (Palazzo Donini).

This year, a pleasant surprise will await the visitors of the festival: for only 5 euros they will be offered to purchase 75 grams of chocolate, as well as receive free gifts and souvenirs.

  • Admission: free;
  • Opening hours: daily from October 17 to October 26 from 09:00 to 18:00;
  • Address of the festival: Peruggia, Piazza IV Novembre.
