Review of Al Capriccio Restaurant in Corleone

We found the Al Capriccio restaurant by accident; we did not find a more or less decent restaurant for a 2-hour walk around Corleone, but we saw many pastries with traditional Sicilian sweets. We are very lucky, because this restaurant is open until noon, which is not often found in Italy. The interior of the restaurant is classic, the walls are decorated with photographs with views of Corleone and the surrounding area.

I was pleasantly surprised by the price of Coke at 2.8 euros and the volume, please pay attention, a liter glass bottle.

As the first quick snack, we chose Rustico antipasti for 6 euros.

Traditionally, all Italian restaurants serve bread. Often it is baked on the spot and in most cases very tasty, it turned out this time too.

As the main dish, I chose pasta with the much promising name Spaghetti alla Corleonese for 7 euros - still we are in Corleone.

Jana preferred Spaghetti alla Siciliana with cherry tomatoes and garlic. And all this for 4.5 euros. By the way, garlic in Sicily is very fond of and added to almost all dishes.

Corleone is a mountain city and we specifically did not order marine pasta series. It should be noted that a whole section is devoted to Italian pasta with seafood in the menu. The cuisine in the restaurant is not bad, but nothing impressive - simple homemade food.

It was decided to abandon the dessert in favor of some sensible pastry, since neither our beloved tiramisu nor panakota were on the menu. Limited only a cup of espresso.

The bill for our lunch was 28 euros. What is the average price for such a meal and for the South of Italy, perhaps a little overpriced.

The service in the restaurant is acceptable, we were served quite quickly at the beginning, bringing antipasti and water. But additional options such as coffee and the final bill had to wait a long time, despite the fact that the restaurant had only 6 people. At the peak of the season, we assume that the situation can only get worse.

Where in Italy to live well, and where - not very ...

A study of the quality of life in various regions of Italy in 2013 by the University of La Sapienza confirmed a well-known fact: in the leaders of Trentino and Lombardy, in the tail - Calabria. The situation is such that in Italy a kind of “border of well-being” has formed, let's call it that. The division, which Umberto Bossi and his League of the North did not manage to advance in the parliament, happened by itself.

Seven million Italians under 35 live with their parents

According to Istat, we are talking about 61.2% of unmarried Italians. Almost seven million young people between the ages of 18 and 34 still live with their parents. And not to say that most of this figure falls on young people: about three million people were over 25 years old. Moreover, among those who share shelter with mom and dad, thirty years are not uncommon.

“Clean up” five banks in two weeks. Impossible? Can only geniuses or professional fraudsters cope with this task? But no. An entrepreneurial resident of Italy made a fortune by robbing five Roman banks, threatening staff ... with a regular ballpoint pen. Some thief from the town of Velletri managed to crank up this difficult “business” thanks to rather strange tactics.

How Pope Benedict XVI lives outside the Vatican

Those who have seen Benedict XVI after leaving the Vatican claim that the former pontiff looks refreshed and rested, leaving politics in the past and fully devoting himself to prayers and playing the piano. The Vatican authorities say that Benedict does not even think of returning to the world stage. Before permanently relinquishing the title of head of the Holy See, the former Pope declared that he was going to lead a modest and even reclusive lifestyle.
